A Student Walking at Night

We want your Bobcats to feel safe navigating campus at night. Here are a few safety resources for your student to help them as well as who to contact in case of an emergency.

Night transportation:

· Nite Cats: Nite Cats offers late night transportation on campus. Operating with vans and utility vehicles, this provides transportation anywhere on the San Marcos campus. This service operates Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Download the TXST Nite Cats app from Google Play or the App Store.

· UPD Student Safety Escort transports students on the San Marcos campus to be dropped off either on or off campus. Service is available 8:00pm – 3:00am.

Other Safety Resources:

      · Bobcat Guardian: A free mobile app that creates a virtual safety network of friends and family for TXST students. Students can engage the app when moving about campus and can contact University Police Department (UPD) from the app.

      · TXST Alert System: This system notifies members of the university community about emergency situations, including hazardous weather. Sign up to get text alerts and stay informed.

          · There are also emergency call boxes located throughout campus that can connect a student directly to University Police Department.
